In light of my prolonged bad health over the summer, I have only this week got back into my walking habits and was able to see some small but significant changes in Brum. Most welcome is the addition of a new cupcake stand on the bridge between the Pallisades and the Bull Ring.
On the location that until recently housed the Happy Cupcake Company (have they moved back to Selfridges?), Frost & Snow is not completely new to Birmingham, although this is its first foray into the lion’s den of the shopping centres.
I first heard of F&S from the Urban Coffee Co who served their delicious rose-shaped cupcakes on Church St. F&S is based in Snow Hill (where they recently opened a full sized cafe – go check it out) and is notable for training up homeless folks to become marvelous bakers. Last year they won an award for Best Not For Profit Initiative at the National Training Journal Awards. I wish them well with their new stand. I here they make a mean brownie and can’t wait to try it out!
